Reads a string from the current position in the buffer. The current position is advanced by the number of bytes read.

Parameters

reader
Type: Demo3D.IOIDataReader
The data reader.
encoding
Type: Demo3D.IOBinaryTextEncoding
The encoding of the string in the packet (or null to use the default).

Return Value

Type: BinaryString
The value read.

Usage Note

In Visual Basic and C#, you can call this method as an instance method on any object of type IDataReader. When you use instance method syntax to call this method, omit the first parameter. For more information, see Extension Methods (Visual Basic) or Extension Methods (C# Programming Guide).
